OFL Work Permit Requirements
All OFL students must fit the following criteria in order to request a work permit:
- Student must be attending all scheduled appointments & DI Classes (if applicable)
- Student must have turned in a minimum of 6 units per month for 2 consecutive months
It is up to the teacher’s discretion for how long the permit will be granted for. If the student does not maintain a good academic standing, the teacher has the right to contact the employer to withdraw the work permit.
Request For Work Permit
After an employer agrees to hire a minor, the minor obtains the Department of Education form Statement of Intent to Employ Minor and Request for Work Permit. The form must be completed and signed by the minor their parent/ guardian and the employer. After returning the completed and signed form to the school, teachers may issue the permit to employ and work. Ask your teacher, or our Career Pathways Coordinator, Mr. Derek.
